Qatar Petroleum enters Eni’s Block A5A in the Angoche basin, offshore Mozambique with 25.5% participating interest. In the result of the deal, Eni S.p.A. will hold 34%, Empresa Nacional de Hidrocarbonetos 15%, and Sasol 25.5%.
The block covers 5,133 square kilometres in the Angoche basin on the depth of 300-1,800 metres. It is not the first Qatar Petroleum’s projects in Mozambique: in December 2018 QP purchased 10% share in nearby Block A5B.
“Having a large and diversified exploration portfolio is a key long-term objective for Qatar Petroleum and essential for success,” notes Saad Sherida Al-Kaabi, Minister of State for Energy Affairs and QP president and chief executive officer.
Meet the representatives of Eni S.p.A. and discuss the most interesting projects in Mediterranean and Africa at the Exploration and Production Offshore Congress Hub 2019 in Thessaloniki on 16-17 September.
